History of Leeupoort
1865 The farm Weihoek was registered in the name of George Frederik Theodor Pretorius .One of his siblings Thomas Pretorius born 15 March 1898 is buried in the old grave yard near the Bos Pos graveyard .
1920 Tom du Plessis becomes the new owner of the farm .
1965 Proclaimed as a private nature reserve .
1968 A company Leeupoort Mineral Bron Edms Bpk was established .
1979 Leeupoort Privaat Wildtuin is started.
1981 20 May Leeupoort Vakansiedorp is officially proclaimed as a town .Stands is sold between R3000 and R5000 each.
1987 About 130 houses has already been build and stands are being sold between R16 500 and R30 000.The Boeremusiek Monument is being build .
1988 The water reservoir is being build and about 29 kilometer of water pipes is laid.
1994 Escom approves electricity supply to Leeupoort.
1996 Escom power is supplied to the town.
2000 Thabazimbie municipality takes over the control of Leeupoort.
2005 Resoneing of erf 654 wich was set out for a Hotel into 31 residential stands .This is known as Leeukruin .
2015 Portion 16 of erf 654 is bought by Anita and Richard Friedrichs.
2016 Design of the house was done.
2017 Rustgevonden was build by Philemon from Ramphoholodi Building and by December 2017 we started to furnish the house.
2018 It is opened for bookings.
